SIGOURNEY- Cleon "Butch" Dale Babcock Jr., died on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home.
Butch was born July 24, 1955 in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Cleon and Aurora (Biggs) Babcock, Sr. and moved to Iowa as a child. On January 1, 1975, he married Veronica "Vickie" Robbins in Ottumwa. The couple lived in Ottumwa and moved to Sigourney 20 years ago, where Butch worked at Bender Foundry for 13 years. Butch enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife Vickie of Sigourney; six children: Jennifer (Jonathan) Selix of Ottumwa, Michael Babcock of Sigourney, Deora (Ronald) Vernon of Albia, Lacy (Curt) Fowler of Fremont, Cayla (Matt) Neef of Sigourney and Chris Babcock of Victor; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Rick Babcock and Larry Babcock and three sisters: Valeda Stump, April Rawlin and Debbie Leckenby. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson: Garrett Shaffer; brother: Robert and sister: Freda.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney. There will be no service.
