Claudine (Parnell) Gale was born on January 28, 1929, to Elige and Anne Nora Parnell in Tibbie, Alabama. She told many stories of growing up there. She truly enjoyed life and spoke of the many hardships of that time as if it were a unique journey that she traveled. She never complained about any of it. She looked back on her child hood with sighs of joy. She loved her parents dearly, and all 9 of her brothers and sisters! On September 18, 1954, she married George W. Gale in Greene County Mississippi, who she met while living in Mobile, Alabama. He was in the U.S. Airforce and stationed at Brooklely Airforce Base in Mobile, Alabama.
She loved to travel and lived in Japan for a while when George was stationed over there. They returned to the states and went on to have 6 children in their 45 year marriage. They lived in Alabama, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Claudine enjoyed meeting lots of different people along the way of her travels. She was loved by many across the United States. She loved helping others and would give a stranger half of what she had if it had to be.
Claudine moved to Iowa in November 2017, to live with her daughter and family, in order to get the care she needed in her final months. Claudine became a resident of the English Valley care center in July 2018, and died there on October 24, 2018 of a sudden illness.
