Clara May Lindsey Septer

Clara May Lindsey Septer, age 90, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Heritage Specialty Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 P.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Clara is survived by her children, Marjorie Spicka (Charles) of Denver, CO, Sue Ludwick (Chris) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert Lindsey (Carol) of Marengo, Martha Kiecksee (Paul) of Swisher, and Peggy Moomey of Williamsburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister Sylvia Layton (Bill) of Marion, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a son Roger K. Lindsey in 2012.

Clara May Needham was born February 1, 1927 in Earle, AR, the daughter of Thomas and Birdie Lawhorn Needham. She received her education in Earle AR and married John Robert Lindsey on May 2, 1941 in Wynn, AR. John passed away, and several years later, Clara married Harold Septer. He passed away in 1991.

Clara was employed in the housekeeping department for Holiday Inn at Little Amana for many years. She enjoyed listening to country music, and going for drives taking in the beautiful scenery. She also enjoyed eating out, especially Chinese food. Most of all, Clara enjoyed spending time with her family.
