Cheryl Rodgers

Cheryl A. "Cher" Rodgers, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at her home. A private visitation will be held. Friends are welcome to join the family at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Moose Lodge in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials may be directed to the family. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Cheryl Anne Rodgers, 54, was born December 16, 1954, in Patchogue, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of Anthony A. and Alice F. Caldwell Cortese. Cher received her education in Boulder, CO. On November, 13, 1975, she married Gary L. Rodgers in Mt. Pleasant where the couple has resided since. Cher worked at Motorola and managed the Mt. Pleasant Redemption Center. She loved horses, gardening, canning, fishing, enjoyed nature, and collected antiques. Cher loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gary; one son, Bodie Rodgers of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one daughter, Dixie (Andrew) Crane also of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two brothers, David (Anita) Caldwell of Westminster, Co, and Leslie (Anna) Rowland, of Lawton, OK; and two sisters, Pearle (Bernie) Lombardi of Louisville, CO; and Toni Looker of Mt. Pleasant, IA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Garin, Morgan and Halibelle Crane and Mikayla Rodgers, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cher was preceded in death by her parents.
