Charles Gingerich

WELLMAN - Charles "Chuck" B Gingerich was born January 17, 1969 in Washington, Iowa the son of Larry and Darlene (Groff) Gingerich. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1987 and attended Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa. He woked varios jobs until his health forced him to retire. He resided in the Wellman area most of his life until moving to Des Moines, in May 2010, where he has since lived. Chuck passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 46 years from complications of muscular dystrophy.
Chuck is survived by his mother L. Darlene Gingerich of Wellman; a sister Darla (John) Saul of Runnells; a brother Willard (Stephanie) Gingerich of Knoxville; 8 nieces and nephews - Brytyn, Jeffery, Chyenne, Abigail, Caitlin, Mya, Carli, Elijah; an aunt and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Larry Gingerich, grand parents Willard and Irene Groff , Ora and Sylvia Gingerich; and 2 uncles Ron Groff and W. Jim Gingerich.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in the Wellman Cemetery in Wellman. There will be no visitation. The Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is in charge of the arrangements.
