Carolyn S. Berger

Carolyn S. Berger, age 80, of Marengo, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 at Terrace Glen Village, Marion. Private family graveside services will be held. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carolyn is survived by her two children, Craig (Shelley) Berger, of Marengo, and Carla (Michael) Clanin, of Cedar Rapids; and seven grandchildren.

Carolyn Sue Stake was born March 6, 1944, the daughter of Wayne and Vivian (Kraus) Stake. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Berger on May 17, 1964. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Marengo. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant. Carolyn was extremely intelligent, loved to read, learn new things and travel. She was an avid bird watcher and would plan trips just to see different types of birds. Carolyn enjoyed cooking and baking, especially beer bread, playing bridge, learning about history, singing and listening to orchestra music. Carolyn and Kenneth raised and showed St. Bernards. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
