Washington- Carol Jane Osborne, 52, of Washington, formerly of Keota, died Monday, December 7, 2009, at her home. Carol was born May 2, 1957, in Louisiana, Missouri, to Benjamin and Mary (Myers) Cottrell. She spent her early years in Keota, and attended Keota Schools. She then lived in Burlington from 1978 to 1997, and then moved to Washington. She attended the First Christian Church in Washington, Loved being with her grandchildren, enjoyed collecting antiques, Betty Boop, crocheting, watching Gunsmoke, and Bonanza, and was very gifted with children. Survivors include 3 children, Kary (Cottrell) Clark, Courtney Osborne, and Cory Osborne, all of Brighton, step-son, Brad Osborne, of North Zulch, Texas. 10 grandchildren, Brothers; Ron Flansberg, Bowling Green Missouri, Benjamin Cottrell, Burlington, David, (Bo) Cottrell, Keota, Ralph Cottrell, Washington, Sisters; Florence Derby, Richland, Charlotte Pierce, Brooklyn, Tina Schmitz, Burlington, Ex Husband, Ralph Osborne, and special friend Jack Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Ray Cottrell, and Frank Cottrell. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December, 12, 2009, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota with Pastor Colton Clay officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Carol and her family.
