Carl R. Seberg, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, IA, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Finley Chapel, 1501 - 150th Street, Mt. Pleasant, IA, with Pastors Mary Kathryn Hart and Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in Finley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Finley Chapel Cemetery Association. Born January 30, 1921, in rural Swedesburg, IA, Carl Raymond was the son of Fernando LeRoy and Fannie Ona (McPheron) Seberg. He attended Union Country School. On February 1, 1942, he married Eunice Maxine Davis in Olds, IA. She survives. A lifelong farmer, Carl raised cattle and hogs, along with row-crop farming. He attended and was a member of Finley Chapel his entire life, where he served on numerous committees, as well as being on the Finley Chapel Cemetery Board. Carl participated in the Olds Lion's Club, Henry County Cattleman's Association, and Olds School Board. He served on the Hawkeye Bank and Trust Board. Most importantly, he loved following the activities of his children and grandchildren. Along with his wife of seventy-two years, Carl is survived by three sons, Steve (Amy Cornwell) Seberg of Winnebago, IL, Rich (Jeanie) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Randy (Kathy) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one daughter, Susie (Mark) Stalder of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and one brother, Glen (Louise) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren, and three step-great-great- grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Michael Lynn Seberg; four sisters, Zola Swarts, Izyel Waterhouse, Wanda Miller, Erma Erickson; and an infant great-grandson Christian Seberg.
