Bruce Edward Reida

Bruce Edward Reida, age 89, of Brooklyn, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with Pastor Joel Nielsen officiating. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, IA. Burial will be at the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, IA. Memorials may be directed to the Brooklyn Food Pantry.

Bruce was born February 24, 1933, to Amos and Gerna (Haswell) Reida. Bruce liked to help people. He helped out at Gerard’s Hatchery; Dean Montgomery on his milk route; yardwork/mowing for people around Brooklyn; and mowed for his father and brother. After his father’s retirement, Bruce and his mother and father served as custodians of Poweshiek County Savings Bank of Brooklyn for 15 years.

Bruce enjoyed his family, going on drives, and eating ice cream. He loved his pets and always enjoyed all of his family members’ pets. He never failed to ask how the pets were doing. He had a great time at adult daycare, especially painting. He took some of his paintings to the Poweshiek County Fair.

Bruce will be missed by his sister, Colleen (Lavern) Lidtka, of Grinnell, IA; his nieces, nephews, and their families: Dennis (Linda) Reida, of Chariton, IA; Susan (Doug) Michalek, of Victor, IA; Sharon (Jim) Wang, of Malcom, IA; Mike (Sheri) Roudabush, of Columbus, OH; Greg (Denise) Roudabush, of Lancaster, OH, Scott Roudabush, of Inman, SC, and Brian (Kathy) Roudabush, of Mechanicsburg, OH; Randy (Janet) Lidtka, of Grinnell, IA; and, Christy (Donnie) Kriegel, of Malcom, IA.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wesley, his sister Mary Jane, brother-in-law Dean Roudabush, sister-in-law Doris Reida, and a great-niece Jamie Roudabush.
