Bruce B Wilson

Bruce Wilson, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, October 08, 2018, in the Emergency Room at the Henry County Health Center.

Born April 30, 1946, in New York City, NY, Bruce Benefielwas the son of Newton K. and Esther (Benefiel) Wilson. Mr. Wilson attended Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL from 1964 to 1968 and earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the SAE Fraternity. Bruce served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War from 1968 1972.

Following his military service, he was employed as an Enrolled Agent for H R Block. Bruce resided in Port Washington, NY for 25 years and later lived in Monmouth, IL, Hampton, VA and Chicago, IL. Prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant, Bruce lived in Lincoln Park, MI for 30 years. Bruce moved to Iowa in 2011 to be close to his family. He enjoyed hunting, farm work and having coffee with friends at McDonalds. He was a fan of all sporting events at Mt. Pleasant High School and Carlisle High School and spending time with his family.

Survivors include four cousins, William Bill Wilson, Debra Heitmeier, Hoot Wilson and J. Michael Mike Fisher all of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jan.
