TIFFIN-Brittany Rae Syndergaard, age 32, of Tiffin, formerly of Keota, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home in Tiffin.
Brittany was born January 1, 1991, in Iowa City, the daughter of Kelly Mousel. She graduated from Keota High School in 2009 and Capri College of Cosmetology. On June 16, 2018, she married Jarod Syndergaard in Waterloo. They made their home in Tiffin, and Brittany owned and operated Salon de Bleu in North Liberty. She was a member of Spirit of Faith Family Church in Cedar Rapids. Brittany had many nicknames growing up, including Bright Eyes, Little Brown Bear, Dorkothy, Frightful, Bubbles, Little Rae of Sunshine and Little Jesus. The only thing bigger than Brittany’s personality was her faith. She enjoyed her church, visiting with her clients at the salon, but most of all, activities involving her family, such as playing cards, four-wheeling, Christmas and going to Lake Lacey.
Survivors include her husband: Jarod Syndergaard; three children: Jett Michael, Zayde Leo and Zoey Virginia, all of Tiffin; mother: Kelly Mousel of Keota; brother: Zach Mousel of Kansas City, Missouri; sister: Riley Mousel of Keota; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her in-laws: Jody and Mike Syndergaard and grandparents: Leo and Virginia Hammes.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Spirit of Faith Family Church in Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Jay Eberly officiating. There will be no visitation. The service will also be livestreamed on the church website.
A memorial fund has been established for their children. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Brittany and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
