WELLMAN-Bridget Marie Gent, age 24, of rural Wellman, died suddenly Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in her parents' home in rural Keota. Bridget was born on August 9, 1981, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, to Patrick and Mary (Janechek) Gent. She was a 2000 graduate of Keota High School and a 2002 graduate of Kirkwood Community College. Bridget was employed at Parkview Manor in Wellman. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed working, movies and spending time with her family and co-workers. Survivors include her parents: Patrick and Mary Gent of Keota; two brothers: Stephen Gent of Ames and Robert Gent of Wellman; grandmother: Lillian Janechek of Keota; six uncles: Dennis (Shirley) Gent of Webster, Raymond (Donna) Gent of South English, Marvin (Karen) Gent of Wellman, Hubert (Jeannette) Gent of Kalona, Leo (Barb) Gent of Omaha, Nebraska and Charles (Deb) Janechek of Springville; three aunts: Henrietta (Frank) O'Connell of VanVleck, Texas, Pauline (Frank) McDonald of Cedar Rapids and Ellan (Wayne) Morrison of Keswick and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Paul and Mary Clarahan Gent and Linus Janechek. Bridget was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2005, at the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in rural Kinross. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where the family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a combined rosary and prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
