WELLMAN - Brian Jay Mahanna was born February 27, 1963 in Iowa City of the son of Donald and Edna (Beachy) Mahanna. He graduated for Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for Local 227 Culinary Union as a waiter for 20 years. On August 29, 1998 he was united in marriage to Barbara Barry in Las Vegas. They moved to Wellman in the summer of 2005. Brian died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from injuries suffered while working on a car at his home. He was 45 years old. Brian is survived by his wife Barbara of Wellman; a daughter Ashley of Wellman; 3 step children - James Perkins and Nicole Quitadamo of Ren, Nevada; Christopher Quitadamo of Temple, Texas; 2 step grandchildren Gia and Dani; his father Donald Mahanna and wife Barbara of Riverside; his mother Edna Blake of Pahrump, Nevada; a brother Kevin Mahanna of Claremont, North Carolina; a sister - Dona Pedersen of Naperville, Illinois; 2 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents - Clarence and Nellie Mahanna, Ray and Anna Mae Beachy, and uncle Harold Mahanna.
