Bonnie Lou Wilkerson, age 81, of North English, Iowa, passed away peacefully at the English Valleys Care Center on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. Bonnie was born to Dick and Mildred Wiersema on September 20, 1931 in Holland, Michigan. She married Norman (Tib) Wilkerson of North English on September 17, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa. She worked as a cook and housekeeper at the University of Iowa for 20 years. Bonnie was a member of the Christian Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Rebecca's, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader for many years. Bonnie is survived by her husband Norman of North English; five children: Kristi (Tom) Klein of North English; Suellen (David) Seaba of Montezuma; Gregg (Elvia) Wilkerson of San Antonio, TX; Doreen Ducey of Charleston, SC; and Daina (Laura) Wilkerson of New Braunfels, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Nicola (Seaba) Rubino, Devina Ducey, Tracee Wilkerson, Damien Wilkerson, Andrea (Seaba) Smith, Jessica Higby, Courtney DeMoss, Sheridan Wilkerson, Karsen Wilkerson and seven great grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Beverly Klifman and Patricia Larson, and brother Bruce Wiersema.
