WELLMAN-Bonnie "Lynn" Knerr, age 53, of Wellman, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Lynn was born August 20, 1959 in Washington, Iowa, to Gerald and Bonnie (Neal) Smith, Sr. She graduated from Keota High School and attended Iowa State University for three years. On January 2, 1982, she married Roger Knerr at her parents' home near South English. Lynn was a homemaker and worked as a cleaning lady for 20 years at several locations. She enjoyed her family, friends, reading, playing backgammon, card games, crosswords, hand-held games and playing with her cats and dogs. Survivors include her husband: Roger of Wellman; two children: Shaun Knerr of Wellman and Ashley Knerr of Ely; step-mother: Roberta Smith of South English; brothers: Gerry Smith, Jr. and wife Violet of Keota, Kenny Ragsdale of Texas, Robert Smith and wife Heather of South English; sister: Denise Ehrman of Keota; mother-in-law: Shirley Knerr of Wellman; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents: Gerald and Bonnie Smith; infant brother: Jimmy; sister: Melody "Sam" Reed and husband Steve; father-in-law: Richard Knerr and her grandparents. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Cremation will follow the visitation and no services are planned at this time.
