Bobby "Dr. Bob" Mattocks, 41, of Wayland, IA, died Monday, May 13, 2013, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. An open visitation will begin after 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel for friends to sign the registry and leave memorials. A private celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Ryker Mattocks Education Fund. Born April 10, 1972, in Mt. Pleasant, Bobby Ethan Mattocks was the son of William Ray and Nancy Jane (Brooks) Mattocks. He was a 1990 graduate of WACO High School. On May 11, 1996 he married Heather Shadden at their home in Wayland, IA. For 20 years "Dr. Bob" has served as the Production Engineer at KILJ Radio Station. Music was his passion, and he expressed that passion through his work and as the lead singer and tambourine player for Jiggle the Handle. Favorite hobbies included fishing and "jeeping." He was an avid Batman enthusiast. Bobby was the head clown and an entertainer at the annual Midwest Old Threshers House of Terror. He especially enjoyed his many friends and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Heather; a son, Ryker; his mother, Nancy Mattocks (Walt Campbell) all of Wayland, IA; his father and mother-in law, Richard and Candy Shadden of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous family and friends. Preceding him in death are his, father, William "Bill" Mattocks; and a brother, Brian Mattocks.
