Bobby Don Castleberry

SIGOURNEY-Bobby Don Castleberry, age 81, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.
    Bobby was born January 1, 1942, in Dale, Texas, to Everett and Mary Elsie (Quicksawl) Castleberry and graduated from high school there.  Bobby worked at an auto parts store, ran the Alamo Drag Strip and worked on oil rigs in Texas for several years.  On March 2, 2002, he married Mary Jennings and they moved to Iowa in 2004.  Bobby enjoyed his Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR racing, visiting with people and, most of all, spending time with his wife and quilting.
    Survivors include his wife: Mary of Sigourney; three children: Barbara Barrientes of San Antonio, Texas, James Castleberry of San Antonio, Texas and Duane Tabor of San Antonio, Texas; three step-children: Susan Ospring of Sigourney, Dawn McDonald of McLean, Virginia and Bill Robison of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two children: Raymond and Beverly Tabor and five brothers: Monroe, Kenneth, Larry, Wallace and Glyndon.

    Per Bobby’s wishes, he will be cremated and inurnment will be in Texas at a later date.  There are no services planned at this time.
