Bobbie Elroy Glandon was born on December 28, 1925 near South English, Iowa a son of Loran R. and Ella M. White Glandon. He attended country school and graduated from Webster High School in 1944. Bobbie served in the U.S. Army Air-Corps at the end of World War II. On November 30, 1952 he was united in marriage to Iva Wyant in North English, Iowa. He farmed, worked at Warder & Lee Elevator and drove his grain and feed truck for many years. Bobbie was a member of the Webster United Methodist Church where he served and chaired on many boards. He served as Mayor of Webster for over 40 years and took great pride in the town. Bobbie was on the local volunteer fire department for many years where he had served as fire chief. Bobbie died following an extended illness on Monday, July 10, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He lived 80 years, 6 months and 12 days.He is survived by his wife Iva Glandon of Webster, Iowa; 4 children: Allan (Kathy) Glandon of Sigourney, Iowa; Cathie (Gary) Campbell of Wellman, Iowa; Julie (Bob) James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Gerald (Terri) Glandon of Webster, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Crystal (Jesse) Hornback, Allison Glandon, Kaitlin Glandon, Rustie (Tim) Opiekun, Thomas Glandon, Jacob Glandon and Megan Glandon; a great grand daughter Madelynn Hornback; a brother Kenneth (Pauline) Glandon of Charles City, Iowa. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Arlene Bower and a brother Raymond Glandon.
