WELLMAN-Bo Hammen, age 2, of Wellman, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City and was welcomed into Heaven. Bo was born September 13, 2006, to Marty and Simone (Pogue) Hammen, at the Washington County Hospital, then was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He always laughed and smiled bringing joy and happiness to everyone he touched. Bo enjoyed watching Sponge Bob Square Pants, looking at lights, having his picture taken, traveling with his family, and laughing at everything. Bo will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever. Survivors include his loving parents: Marty and Simone Hammen of Wellman; four sisters: Natasha, Rebecca, Sorcha and Harley, and one brother: Shawn, all of Wellman; grandfathers: Marvin Hammen and special friend Maureen Robertson of Keota and Brian Pogue of Coventry City, England; three aunts: Angie (Rick) Adrian of Iowa City, Tami (Todd) Clements of Iowa City and Jenna Pogue and friend Stuart Liggins of Coventry City, England; one uncle: Patrick (Jo) Pogue of Darlington, England, five cousins and family friends Donald Nunley and Travis Hedges. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Betty Hammen and Teresa Pogue. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at the Wellman Fire Station, where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the family. The family would like to thank the Wellman Fire and Rescue Team, Ambulance Service, UIHC Air Care Team, Dr. Lori Christensen, Janine Petitgout, Dr. Daniel Bonthius, Dr. Jose Manaligod, and all of the doctors, nurses, therapists, housekeepers and staff at the UIHC for the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Bo and the entire family throughout his life.
