Billie Rae Recher

Williamsburg-Billie Rae Recher was born August 31, 1936, in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of William and Christine (Petersen) Recher. She graduated from Estherville High School and University of Iowa Dental College. She worked in the Health Care field for 34 years and the last 18 years as a Dental Hygienist for Kapple Dental Associates until retiring. Billie enjoyed gardening, quilting and doing watercolor art. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, she also was a Merry Monkey Maker. Billie passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home at the age of 80 years.

She is survived by her two daughters: Tracy Recher of Iowa City and Susie (Al) Garton of Solon; four grandchildren: Kaegan Recher, Julien Recher, Taylor Garton and Will Garton; a sister: Be Silverman of Lincoln, NE and five cousins: Lance Volz and Lane Recher of Aurora, CO, Bret George and Kent George of Iowa City and Kris Shabestar of Lynchburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Gladis Recher.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
