KEOTA-Betty Jean Heisdorffer, age 91, of Keota, died Monday, September 16, 2019, at the Sigourney Health Care Center.
Betty was born September 1, 1928, in Washington, Iowa, to Paul and Blanche (Moody) Sparks and graduated from Delta High School. On February 19, 1946, she married Milo J. Heisdorffer in What Cheer. The couple lived and farmed in the Keota community for many years. Betty also worked at A.A. Hulse & Co., the Keota Drug Store and Corner Drug in Sigourney. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society. A very caring mother and grandmother, she enjoyed visiting with friends, baking and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter: Linda Baugher and husband Jim of Unionville, Missouri; son: John Heisdorffer and wife Deanna of Keota; four grandchildren: Kathy Hullinger, Lisa Cutchens, Jody Burns and Chris Heisdorffer; 11 great grandchildren and two sisters: Joy Shepherd of Sigourney and Beverly Blasi of Glenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Milo in 2005 and two sisters: Dorothy Heisdorffer and Carol Ritz.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Fr. Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in rural Harper. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a vigil service at 4:00.
