SIGOURNEY- Betty Lou Ingle, was born August 18, 1926, in Plank Township, near Sigourney, Iowa, a daughter of John LeRoy and Addie L. (Spiess) Kerkove. She attended the Carter Country School, near Ollie. On February 21, 1948, she was united in marriage to Philip Jackson Ingle. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, baby sitting her grandkids, watching the Chicago Cubs and spending time with her beloved dog "Fluffer". Betty died on Monday, May 4, 2009, at her home in Sigourney, at the age of 82 years. Betty is survived by three sons: Gary of Iowa City, Gerald (Jan) of Albany, OR and Gregg of Delta; two daughters: Marilyn Ingle and Twila (Jim) Carter all of Sigourney; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 6 brothers: Harold Kerkove, Richard (Ann) Kerkove all of Sigourney, Pete (Joan) Kerkove of Anaheim, CA; Raymond (Karen) Kerkove of Brigham City, UT, Frances Kerkove of San Antonio, TX and Donald (Nancy) Kerkove of Hemet, CA; 3 sisters: Kathleen Bailey of Omaha, NE, Mary Jane (Bill) Kerber of Sigourney and Carolyn (Glenn) Irwin of Tuscon, AZ; a sister-in-law Fern Kerkove of Sigourney; and one brother-in-law Paul Hicks of Long Beach, MS; She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack; a brother James Kerkove; a sister Marlene Hicks; 5 brothers-in-law; 5 sisters-in-law; a grandson Wade Leon Carter; and a granddaughter Tiffany Lynn Ingle. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney. Pastor John Hembry will officiate. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery, near Ollie. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time on Friday. A general memorial fund has been established.
