DELTA-Betty Adams, age 84, of Delta, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at her home.
Betty was born May 28, 1930, near Harper, to Vincent and Dorothy (Peiffer) Schulte and attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School. On November 25, 1950, she married Beryl Adams at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. Following marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Delta area. Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed farming, caring for animals and mushrooming.
Survivors include her husband: Beryl of Wellman; three grandchildren: Erika Fronabarger and husband Garrett of St. Louis, Missouri, Tracy Adams of Kansas City, Missouri and Steven Adams and wife Jessea Campbell of St. Louis, Missouri; three great grandchildren: loreli, Ike and Vivian Fronabarger; one sister: Thelma Mahan of Wayland and one brother: Robert Schulte of Keota. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Phillip; four sisters: Irma Gent, Theola Herrmann, Geny Bombei and Arlene Samuelson parents-in-law: Leo and Velna (Richardson) Adams and brother-in-law: Paul Adams.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, where there will be a wake service at 4:00 p.m.
