Barry Wilson, 43, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Wayland, IA, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Born June 15, 1975, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, Barry Jay Wilson was the son of Robert Jay and Vicki Noreen (McKean) Wilson. He was a 1993 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended one year at Upper Iowa University and two years at Southeastern Community College. Barry and Chrystal Britcher were married by common law but later separated.
Barry worked at Kintzi Manufacturing and Welding in Marengo, IA, was owner and operator of Wilson Welding and Fabrication, Mt. Pleasant, IA, and most recently he was a supervisor at Bazooka Farmstar in Washington, IA.
Confirmed at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Barry served as an altar boy in his youth. His interests included the outdoors and sportscross fit training, running, camping and fishing. He was a Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Orioles fan and he enjoyed playing softball for the company team at Bazooka and supporting the Mt Pleasant Wrestling Club. In high school Barry was a three-time qualifier at the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament, placing in the top six at 152 pounds.
Surviving Barry are his parents, Robert and Vicki Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Kyler Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, and Colton Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Erin (Derik) Housh of Mt. Pleasant; a niece and nephew, Jayden and Kale Housh of Mt. Pleasant; and a special friend, Liz Graber of Crawfordsville, IA.
Barry was preceded in death by his grandparents.
