Barb Kleinschmidt

HEDRICK-Barb Kleinschmidt, age 75, of Hedrick, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her home.
    Barb was born April 23, 1947, in Ottumwa, to Dwight and Helen (Pence) Kleinschmidt.  She attended Modock country school, Martinsburg schools and graduated from Pekin High School.  Barb was married to Danny Showman for 10 years.  She was a cook at Manor House Care Center for 36 years and enjoyed reading, canning, garage sales, going to Cantril, helping the boys and her dogs: Sandy and BB.  Barb was like a grandma to Connie’s kids and always wanted to take care of everybody.
    Survivors include a sister: Connie Sue Winn of Ollie; sisters-in-law: Judy Kleinschmidt and Mari Kleinschmidt and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Bob Kleinschmidt and Rick Kleinschmidt.

    Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney.  Private family burial will be at a later date.
