NORTH ENGLISH-Austin James Watson, age 25, of North English, died Monday, February 15, 2016, at his home.
Austin was born January 22, 1991, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Parish and Tamaryn (Morlan) Watson and graduated from high school in Pulaski, Virginia. He then served in the Army as a Combat Engineer and received a medical discharge. Austin worked at Lowe's in Virginia, Ames and Cedar Rapids. He was currently working at Kinze Manufacturing in Williamsburg. Austin enjoyed paintball, working out, target shooting, Xbox and building computers. He was a generous person with a heart of gold. He was rarely serious, cared about other people and his favorite saying was, "when I get a round tuit."
Survivors include his father: Parish Watson of Omaha, Nebraska; mother: Tamaryn Watson of Pulaski, Virginia; grandparents: Jimmy and Nancy Morlan of Sigourney and Jerry (Jackie) Watson of Dublin, Virginia; great grandmother: Bonnie Phieffer of Hanover, Maryland; brothers: Josh (Jillian) Watson of Washington, Iowa and Brett Watson of Omaha, Nebraska; sister: Brianna Watson of Papillion, Nebraska; nephew: Jayden Watson of Washington, Iowa; many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents: Grandpa and Oma Morlan and Granddaddy and Gogie Schleihs.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Sigourney Christian Church, with Pastor Dave Welch officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the church.
