Audrey Ilene Rowe, 82, of Wellman, Iowa died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Mercy Hospital Hospice in Iowa City. Mrs. Rowe was born March 3, 1930 in Ellston, Iowa. She was the daughter of Parks and Grace (Thompson) Ellison. She graduated from Clearfield High School and was on their state basketball team. On April 6, 1950 Audrey was united in marriage to Keith Rowe. In 1953 they began farming in the Wellman community. Audrey worked for 76 Limited where she ran the farrowing operation for 20 years, she also owned and operated a machine quilting business in her home for many years. She was a 60 year member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Wellman Embroidery Club. Audrey was an excellent cook and seamstress, and was very creative with fabrics. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family. Audrey is survived by five children, Andy Rowe and friend Melody Malek of Marengo, IA, Kathryn (Rowe) Novotny of Rochester, MN, Jason Rowe of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara (Rowe) Coffman and husband Steve of South English, IA, and Elizabeth (Rowe) Montelius and husband Randy of Cedar Rapids, IA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Adam Rowe and wife Katie, Amy (Rowe)Nicholson and husband Nate, Matthew, Nathan and Laura Novotny, Emily Montelius, Sage and Isabel Coffman; two step grandchildren Cyrus Coffman and wife Kelly, and Leslie (Coffman) Arends and husband Brandon; two brothers Cecil Ellison of Nolanville, TX, Merle South of Afton, IA, and a sister Marjorie Adkisson of Downs, IL. She was preceded in death by here parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law Julie (Finke) Rowe, three sisters Lulu Mathany , Edna Dolson, Pauline Lewis , and two brothers Stewart Ellison and Wayne Ellison. Visitation will be held on Saturday July 14, 2012 from 9-11 AM at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman, with a memorial service at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Keota Cemetery following the luncheon. A memorial fund has been established for the Asbury United Methodist Church.
