Wellman- Audrey Leona Miller was born January 30, 1928 rural Johnson County, the daughter of Ora B. And Gertrude (Yoder) Brenneman. She attended Woodland School and later graduated from the American School in Chicago by correspondence. She married Wayne L. Miller on December 24, 1946 and became the mother of Kenton Wayne, Dennis Jay, and Laurel Ann. Audrey was baptized at age 12 and become an active member of Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, serving as Sunday School and Bible School teacher, on service committees, women's sewing, prison ministry, and the Crowded Closet. She loved to have guests into her home for meals and overnight visits. She enjoyed sewing clothes, doll clothes and quilts. Her greatest joy and blessing was her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Mercy Hospitals in Iowa city age the age of 85. Audrey is survived by her husband Wayne L. Miller and her children; Kenton (Barb) Miller of Iowa City; Dennis ( Rosie) Miller of Wellman and Laurel (Sid) Rowland of Wellman; 7 grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; three siblings Nita Erb of Kalona; Lowell Brenneman of Wellman and Clair (Faye) Brenneman of Palmer Lake, CO and a sister-in-law: Pauline Yoder of Kalona. She is preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Andrew Miller. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church rural Kalona. Pastor Don Patterson and Pastor Steve Nelson will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Yoder- Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice or IMS (Iowa Mennonite School). Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries.
