Arthur Stutzman was born January, 26, 1915 in Wood River, Nebraska the son of William and Barbara (Gascho) Stutzman. He grew up in Wood River, where in his youth he accepted Christ as his savior and was baptized at the Wood River Mennonite Church. Art moved to Wellman in 1944 where he farmed. In 1958 he moved to Iowa City and worked in housekeeping at the University of Iowa Hospital until retiring in 1980. He returned to Wellman in 1982. He was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, was active in MDS, and enjoyed traveling and spending time withhis family and friends. Art died on Monday, November 7, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a sudden illness at the age of 90 years. Art is survived by two sisters - Eda Stutzman of Kalona; Wilma Stutzman of Wellman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters - Rosa Roth and Malinda Schweitzer Kinsinger.
