Arlen Bruce Faas, age 78, of Brooklyn, passed away at his home on Monday, December 28, 2020. Private family services will be held. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arlen is survived by his wife Linda; his children Alan (Janet) Faas, of Brooklyn, Brenda (Allan) Graham, of Brooklyn and Cheryl Bolen, of Marshalltown; six grandchildren Matt (Holly) Faas, Chase (Kayla) Faas, Carrie Graham, Kyle Graham, Bret Bolen and Britta Bolen; four great-grandchildren; and three brothers Ron (Betty) Faas, of California, Dave (Mary Ann) Faas, of Brooklyn, and Wayne (Sue) Faas, of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his son Russell in infancy and parents Wilbur and Velma Faas.
Arlen was born July 24, 1942, in Millersburg, the son of Wilbur and Velma (Price) Faas. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1960. Arlen was united in marriage to Linda Elaine Bauman on September 2, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Malcom. He served in the United States Army and Reserves for five and a half years. Arlen owned and operated Faas Construction and Excavating for 52 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
