KALONA-Arden Daniel Miller, age 57, of Washington, formerly of Kalona, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Washington County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Arden was born October 28, 1950, near Kalona, to Edward F. and Sarah (Mast) Miller and attended hospital school in Iowa City. Arden lived at REM in Kalona several years before moving to Washington. He attended Nelson Adult Center, Systems Unlimited and WCDC and enjoyed music. Survivors include his mother: Sarah Helmuth and husband Eli of Kalona; one brother: David Lee Miller and wife Martha of Kalona; five sisters: Lucy Stoltzfoos and husband Roman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Elaine Miller of Kalona, Evelyn Miller and husband Steven of Hutchinson, Kansas, Nancy Miller of Iowa City and Louise Miller of Kalona; 26 nieces and nephews; three great nieces and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; sister: Mary Catherine Miller and two brothers in infancy. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2007, at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona with Rev. Delmar Bontrager officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2007, at the church, where the family will be present from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Kalona is handling the arrangements.
