April Mahan

KEOTA-April Mahan, age 58, of Keota, passed Friday, August 10, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family.
April was born July 9, 1960, in Decatur, Illinois, to Donald and Eloise (McGuire) Hodges and graduated from MacArthur High School in Decatur. On February 24, 1992, she married Jeff Mahan in Monticello, Illinois. The couple lived in Washington, Iowa for four years before moving to Keota, where April worked as a cook at County Line Mart for three years. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors, taking day trips, her dogs, yard, flowers and children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Jeff of Keota; son: Vince Smallwood (Mahan) of Keota; step-daughter: Melissa (Mahan) Michel of Harristown, Illinois; step-son: Nick (Jessica) Mahan of Keota; five grandchildren: Miranda Michel, Hailey Michel, William Michel, Emily Mahan and Brian Mahan; two sisters: Donna Hodges and Christine (Mike) Hobson and brother: Donnie Hodges, all of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
