Annetta M. Stoutner, of Keota, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011, at Halcyon House in Washington. She was 100 years old. Annetta was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Harry C. and Effie (Medendorp) Bowman on August 2, 1910. She attended school in Oak Park and graduated from River Forest High School and Mosher Business School in Chicago. Annetta worked for Ewing Plumbing Company in River Forest, having advanced to the office of Corporate Secretary, for several years. On August 26, 1966, she married Bruce Stoutner at the United Presbyterian Church in Oak Park, Illinois, where Annetta had been an active member. Following marriage the couple made their home in Keota. Annetta was a faithful attendee of the United Church of Faith. She was an active member of P.E.O., the Keota Fortnightly Club, the American Home Fortnightly Club in Washington and was a former member of T.T.T. in Keota. Survivors include two step daughters: Lois Anderson and husband Larry of Keota and Charlene (Stoutner) Orndorff of Libertyville, Illinois; four step grandchildren: David (Charlotte) Anderson, Mark (Tobi) Anderson, Lisa (Anderson) McArtor and Jeff Anderson; seven step great grandchildren; eight step great great grandchildren and sister-in-law: Geraldine Bowman of Mt. Prospect, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Bruce in 2000 and brother: Arnold Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the United Church of Faith.
