Anna Mary Cox

Williamsburg-Anna Mary Cox was born September 6, 1924 near Williamsburg, Iowa. The daughter of Jacob (Ez) and Esther (Gorvin) Cox. She graduated from Parnell High School. Anna worked on the family farm west of Parnell for a number of years until they moved to Williamsburg. She then went to work for Amana Refrigeration retiring in 1986. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and spending time with her family. Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the National Foresters Society. Anna passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by a son: Jon (Tess) Cox of Cottonwood, Arizona; a grandson: Randy (Geraldine) Cox of Flagstaff, Arizona; two great grandchildren: Shanowa Cox and Trey Cox; four great great grandchildren and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Raymond and Edward Cox and a grandson Ryan Cox.


Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the church.
