Anna M. Sanchez, 67, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Mike Kelley officiating. The family will greet friends for two hours prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m., at the Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, gifts of love and friendship may be given to Great River Hospice. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Born November 15, 1949, in Far Rockaway, NY, Anna Marita was the daughter of Ferdinand and Shirley Ackerman Tudda. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, NY. On May 1, 1976, she married Roberto Antonio Sanchez in Copiague, NY. Anna lived in Inwood, New York, prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant thirteen years ago. For much of her career, Anna was employed by the United States Postal Service as a clerk, both in Hewlett, NY, and Ft. Madison, IA. After twenty-five years of service, she retired on December 31, 2008.Having a loving relationship with the Lord, Anna was a member of Assembly of God Church in Springfield, NY, Full Gospel Church of Oceanside, NY, Full Gospel Church of Island Park, NY, and First Assembly of God Church in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Anna was a member of the Rhythm Rockers and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling to visit family. Anna volunteered at the Fellowship Cup, often visited and was a blessing to hospital patients. Her favorite game was Canasta. This past year, she loved watching and sharing videos of her granddaughter, Robin. Along with her husband, Tony, of forty-one years, Anna is survived by a daughter, Crystal Gayle Sanchez of Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Robert Anthony (Emily) Sanchez of Arlington, VA, and Richard Thomas Sanchez of New York City, NY; a step-son, Jose Roberto (Ana Marina) Sanchez of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two brothers, Joseph (Susana) Tudda of Del Ray Beach, FL, and Mark (Ellen) Tudda of Bayside, NY; and two sisters, Faye (Michael) Catanzaro of East Wakefield, NH, and Susie (Bernie) Feuer of Mt. Pleasant, IA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jessica, Edwin, and Robin. Anna was preceded in death by her parents.
