Williamsburg - Anita Elisa Joseph was born September 12, 1914 in York Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of George R. and Anna K. (Sandersfeld) Steinke. She was a life long resident of Williamsburg. Anita was united in marriage to Everett Joseph on February14, 1939 at the Little Brown Church. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, a member of the Altar Guild and the Fellowship Club. She loved to play cards and make tea towels for her grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was a great cook and baker. Anita died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg after a brief illness at the age of 92 years. Anita is survived by her husband Everett of Williamsburg; a son Harold (Karen) Joseph of Williamsburg; 2 daughters Majorie (Larry) Shay of Shellsburg, IA, and Cynthia (David) Fruendt of Iowa City; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren three great great grandchildren and a sister Serina Eastburn of Lawrence KS. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rachel, two brothers Rudolph and Adolph and three sisters Johanna, Marie and Linda. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Rev. Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
