SIGOURNEY-Amber Schauf, was born April 11, 1980, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Bob and Deb (Northup) Schauf. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1998 and AIB College in 2001, with a IT degree. She worked as a senior marketing manager for Symmetry in Des Moines, before she was transferred to Kansas City. She was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church. She was a lifeguard at the pool, where she worshiped the sun. Amber loved the ocean, warm weather, her travels to Panama and California playing board games and most of all her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Amber died following a sudden illness on Friday, March 20, 2009, in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 28 years. She is survived by her parents; a brother Ryan (Missy) Schauf; a sister Hayley Schauf; nieces and nephews: Makenna, DJ, Brianna, Madison, Payton, Michael and Hannah; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends from Kansas, Irene and Tarus Edwards. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a special aunt Rosemary Schauf Voss. Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Sigourney Christian Church in Sigourney. Rev. Jim Bringman will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney. Memorials may be made to Sigourney Christian Church or the family.
