Virgil Allen Watson, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at his residence. According to his wishes his body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life gathering has been set for Saturday, Semptember 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in Allens memory, and may be directed to the family. Born January 18, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Allen was the son of Virgil Everett and Marion Edith (Garmoe) Watson. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1968. For two years he attended college in St. Louis, MO. On July 4, 1980 he married Jessica Gopez in Salem, Iowa. Allen was a man of many talents. He worked as a design engineer and consultant where he would design automated machinery. Allen owned and operated Systematic Solutions Inc. in Salem, IA. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and participated as a Salem City Council member. He enjoyed camping and boating with his family on the Mississippi River. Survivors include his wife, Jessica, of Martinez, CA; two sons, Kristopher (Kristin) Watson stationed in Germany with the United States Army, and Jonathan (Megan) Watson of Irvine, CA; three grandchildren, Kaden, Karter and Landon; his mother, Marion Watson of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a brother, Dean (Judy) Watson of Zimmerman, MN; and a sister, Cheryl (Mel) Sanders of Houghton, IA. Stepsons Romeo (Liza) Arrivas of Martinez, CA and Tim (Damaris) Arrivas of Dublin, CA; and a stepdaughter Kathy Endoso of Phoenix, AZ. Preceding Allen in death are his father; and sisters, Marilyn Jean Watson, Audrey Eileen Dill and Lois Elizabeth Watson.
