Wellman Dateline Allan "Butch" Monroe Boone, was born September 1, 1944, in Wellman, Iowa the son of Marvin and Adella M. "Peg" (Evans) Boone. He attended Mid Prairie Schools. On December 26, 1964, he married Mary Jo Neal, in Iowa City. Butch was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellman. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Butch, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at his home in Wellman at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his wife Mary of Wellman; 3 children: Karen (Jeff) Fair, Corey (Valerie) Boone and Steve (Maria) Boone all of Wellman; 13 grandchildren: Kendall Hammes, Taylor Fair, Kelsi Fair, Joe, Josh, & Jesse Boone, Zach, Derek and Kyna Oxley, Joe, Ashley, Arial and Ayla Tripses; 3 great grandchildren Matthew Troyer, Noah and Rowan Lamb and 2 sisters: Connie (Jim) McKray of Riverside and Paula (Dale) Lampe of Keota. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Jackie Johnston and a brother Alfred "Ole" Boone. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Wellman. Pastor Mark Larson will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-7 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Wellman. A general memorial fund has been established.
