Williamsburg- Alice Ann Kleinmeyer was born September 23, 1923 near Conroy, Iowa, the daughter of William H. and Rose (Wille) Hopp. She was confirmed in June 1936. She graduated from Conroy High School in 1940. On February 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ernest Kleinmeyer at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Conroy. She was a school bus driver for the Williamsburg School District for 20 years retiring in 1986. After her retirement she and Ernest served as church custodians for St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, fixing things and doing crossword puzzles. Alice died on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 9 days. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Mike) Sauer of Waterloo; a granddaughter Carrie Sauer of West Des Moines; and a brother: Herbert Hopp of Ladora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest in 1996, 6 brothers: Elmer Hopp, Clarence Hopp, Otto Hopp, Alfred Hopp, Wilfred Hopp and Earl Hopp and a sister Helen Hopp. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Conroy. Visitation will be on Monday, from 4-8 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Memorial are for St. Paul Lutheran Church.
