Alice C. Kempf was born Thursday, February 25, 1915 in Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Kate (Colby) Fuller. On July 29, 1933 she was united in marriage to Walter J. Kempf, he died on March 24, 1961. She lived in the Wellman community all of her life where she held various jobs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Alice died on Friday, December 30, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness at the age of 90 years. Alice is survived by a son - Kenneth D. (Sue) Kempf of Wellman; a daughter - Aileen (Bob) Blades of Des Moines; 2 daughters-in-law Linda Kempf of Wellman; Janice Martin of Swisher; a sister-in-law Ruth Fuller of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren - Kenneth B. (Angie) Kempf of Wayland; David (Valli) Kempf of Kalona; Andrew (Bridget Gasper) Kempf of Moline, IL; Kim (Tammy) Kempf of Johnston; Kurt Kempf of Oakland, CA; Phil (Patty) Kempf of Vallejo, CA; Lisa (Scott) Giles of Nashville, TN; Melissa Kempf of Tiffin; Jeanne Koshatka of Wellman; Jane (Mike) Townsend of Wellman; Jim (Michelle) Kempf of Coralville; Debbie Kruzic of Des Moines; Tom (Debbie) Blades of Ankeny; Michelle (Rocci) Howe of Berthoud, CO; 18 great grandchildren - Amber Kempf; Cole Kempf; Alison Kempf; Jayson Kempf; Aimee Kempf; Megan Kempf; Tyler Kempf; Random Giles; Remington Giles; Kyle Koshatka; Nicole Immerman; Amanda Immerman; Kelsey Kempf; Ben Kruzic; Amy Murch; Emily Woodard; Rocci Howe II; Josh Howe; 2 great great grandchildren; Hunter Price and Makinsey Woodard; 2 brothers - Ralph (Delores) Fuller Jr. of LaFeria, TX; Don (Jo) Fuller of Tuscon; AZ; 2 sisters - Fern Rich of Des Moines; and June Ricliffs of Kissimmee, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sons - Jay Kempf (07/30/91) and Fred Kempf (01/03/02), 3 brothers - Jason Fuller, Lyle Fuller, Delbert Fuller and a sister - Clara Alford.
A Memorial FUnd has been established for the First Baptist Church and the Wellman Senior Center.
