KEOTA-Adelyn Klein, age 98, of Keota, died of old age Sunday, October 24, 2004, at Maplewood Manor in Keota. Adelyn was born September 6, 1906, in Oaks, North Dakota, to Edward and Sadie (Curran) Ditzler. She moved to Keota with her parents in 1921 and attended Keota High School. On November 17, 1923, she married Alva Klein in Keota. The couple farmed in the Kinross, Harper and Keota areas, retiring in 1966. She was an active member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and enjoyed her children's activities. Survivors include five children: L. G. "Chuck" Klein of Oxford, Joyce and husband Dick Applegate of Lawton, Oklahoma, Ron and wife Betty Klein of Saulsbury, Tennessee, Rich Klein of Keota and Terry and wife Cami Klein of Sedalia, Colorado; granddaughter: Marcy Juniper of Keota and 16 other grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alva in 1968, brother, Roy Ditzler, daughter, Vivian Baughman and one grandson in infancy. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, at St. Mary Cemetery in Keota with Rev. Sallie Graves officiating. Procession will be leaving Powell Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
