SIGOURNEY-Cleda Geno, age 96, of Sigourney, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the Sigourney Care Center.
Cleda was born August 16, 1913, in West Lancaster Township, Keokuk County, Iowa, to Samuel and Mary (Scott) Morrow and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1932. On September 7, 1932, she married Virgil Geno at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Cleda worked as a clerk at the Napa auto parts store in Sigourney and was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a special friend: Tom Bates of Sigourney. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Virgil in 2005.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010, at the Sigourney Christian Church, with Rev. Jim Bringman officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established for the Sigourney Christian Church. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Cleda.
